Studyin' Hard on a Saturday

It's the Saturday before finals!  I'm home alone because my roommate went home for the weekend.  You may be asking me why I decided to stay here in cowboy-ville especially since we all know that I kinda hate it.  Well . . . the answer is . . . I stayed to study.  Of course that means that I didn't' get out of bed till noon and when I did I immediately got on a few time wasting websites.  :)

I will be studying though . . . later . . . ish.

At any rate, while I was on one of those time wasting websites, I found this video.  It is hilarious and just to awesome not to share.  While I have no desire to go to BYU, I'm really curious to what other hijinks go on there.  :)

Anyways, enjoy this video.

It's the Final Countdown

It finally the Final Countdown.  That's right folks.  I have just entered the last week of this crap-fest of a semester.  In t-minus ten days I will be going home.  And it's about time too.  I thought that senoritis was cured when you graduated high school.  Boy did I misdiagnose that.  It came back full swing over the past couple of weeks.  And it's not getting any better.  Of course, it doesn't help that all my friends are either at BYU or UVU it seems and they are already almost done with finals.  Then again, I did get a Spring Break.

Ah well.  Next week are my finals and then it's homeward bound until the seventh when I start summer classes.  Woo-hoo.

Midnight Madness

Well . . . it's official.  Ephraim is one of the weirdest towns in America.

That's right folks.  It's half past midnight and something strange just went down outside our window.

About ten minutes ago, two random people got in a car just outside our window and proceeded to flash their lights on and off for no reason.  Sometimes it was their normal lights, then their brights, then the lights on the inside of the car, then their tail lights.

But that's not all.

At one point, they randomly got out of the car, switched sides and proceeded to get right back into the flashing lights business.

The only logical explanation that we have for this strange phenomenon is that they are drunk.

Let's hope they aren't though.  They just pulled out of the parking lot.

Ah Ephraim, I wonder what other surprises you have in store for us within the next several weeks.

Spring Fever

Spring fever has hit me hard today.  Unfortunately for my poor room that means another round of spring cleaning.  Of course, it's taken every ounce of self control I have not to clean my roommates side of the room as well.  But lets face it . . . that would be "weird".

I'm just so excited.  In sixteen days I will be headed back to good ol' PG for the summer.  And quite frankly, there ain't much tying me down here, so I may never come back.

Dont' get me wrong, Snow College is a fantastic college with great professors and a great class environment.  I just hate Ephraim with a fiery burning passion.

As a result, even though I can't leave this place for another sixteen days, I have already started packing and other preparations.  I am literally to excited to sit still.

I just wish it was happening sooner.

Ah well.  C'est la vie.  It will happen soon enough.  In the meantime, please enjoy this lovely thing that I found on a time-wasting-website.  It is hilarious.

Polls Closed

Well the poll closed a few days ago, but I was too lazy to change it.  One person voted, but they voted in favor of keep the "random picture of the week" feature on my blog.  Thank you, whoever you are.

The "Random Picture of the Week" feature is back.  Enjoy it and have a fantastic rest of the week.

Video Mania

In the past hour or so I have been cruising around various time wasting websites and a blog or two and have found quite a few hilarious videos.  While I can't post about each and every one of them, there is a tab off to the side of my blog posts that is titled "Awesome Videos".  All the videos I have found today will be posted there.  Go check it out.

At any rate, this video is just to hilarious to not post right here on my blog for everyone to see.  Special thanks to my good friend, Mariah Stubbs for finding it and letting me steal it from her blog.  Enjoy.

Forgotten Memories

So in all the excitement of the weekend, I forgot to mention that something interesting actually happened here in Ephraim.  Can you believe it?

I sure can't.

As many of you know, there was fire in my apartment building about a month or so ago.  The details are sketchy, but this is how it went down.

I was in my room with my roommate Karli Goodman.  We were just minding our own business on our respective computers when I thought I heard the distant sounds of fire alarms.  Now fire alarms are not that uncommon in my dorm.  Turns out most people don't know how to cook when they first move out and manage to burn a lot of stuff.  As a result I turned to Karli and said;

"Is that what I think it is?"

She sat there for a moment and nodded saying; "Yeah.  But it's not the fire alarm that we have to worry about."

Seconds later, the alarms in the hallway went off and we had to quickly get out.  Once in the hallway I was surprised to see it covered in smoke and of course raced outside.

The rest of the story is pretty simple, the firetrucks arrived, we were kept out of the apartment for over an hour, I didn't get some homework done, and the girls who set their room on fire were moved down the hall.

Now for the interesting part.

The Student Housing Office has finally decided that they need to gut and replace everything in that room. As a result men in Hazmat suits have been going in and out of the room directly across the hall from ours.  They also placed a large, extremely visible and nerve wracking sign on the door.

Special Thanks to Karli Goodman for supplying the photo.

Yeah.  Really fills you with confidence huh?

At any rate, our dorm once again smells awful (according to my roommate at least.  I can't smell anything right now) and all of this just to fix one apartment room while the rest of the building is falling into disrepair.  So I ask you, readers, how would you like to be in my shoes?

Dramatic Monologue

Drama.  I've never been one for it.  While I'm sure that I've caused it in my life (who hasn't?) I've never liked it.  But then again . . . who does?

Of course, being a freshman . . . in college . . . as finals approach, drama seems to fill my every waking moment.  If its not my drama and stress, it's a friends drama.  Let's just say . . . It makes me a little crotchety.

This week, as stated above, has been OVERLY dramatic.  And that's after last semester (which trust me, was way more dramatic).  Life was really starting to tick me off, and it was starting to show through when I saw this.  It made me realize; not all drama, is bad drama.  So, watch this.  Enjoy.  It just might make your day.

The Long Stretch Ahead

Today was a hard day.  It started out bad and just kinda . . . plateaued there.

It all started at literally the crack of dawn.  5:55 AM.  I had been asleep for maybe four hours by this point and was in no mood to play chicken with my snooze button.  Luckily I had brought a hat home this weekend and so I rolled over for another thirty minutes before having to stumble out of bed, for real, at 6:35 to get ready and finish packing before my roommate came to pick me up and take me, for the last time, back to Ephraim.

It was awful.

I hate mornings.

Upon arriving at school at almost precisely 8:30 AM, I headed for my room, unpacked and then realized that with the lack of sleep, the massive amounts of homework I hadn't done over the weekend, and the desperate need for my cold to go away, I wasn't going to make it through any of my classes so I decided to sluff them.  Good idea right?  I thought so.  Still do.  Although I didn't get much done, I really wouldn't have been able to make it through a boring math lecture, and a horrendous Micro lecture, all the while pretending to understand the foreign language that both professors try to pass off as English.

So I stayed home.  And I planned.  That was the best part of my day.  The planning.  I planned how things are going to go down in approximately 26 days when I leave Ephraim for almost ever, and move back home.  My house, my room, my family.  It may just be the only thing that gets me through the next 26 days.

But it's coming.  It may seem far away, but it's coming.  The end of Ephraim is on it's way, and I am so excited!

PG Vs. Ephraim

Home.  It is always such a warm Heaven and then I get back to Ephraim and its like a fiery . . . the opposite place of heaven.

If I have ever felt that way about my home vs. my college, it would be this week.  I went home and felt relaxed as I just kind of lazed about and watch Confrence.  Then, out of the blue it seemed, I was dragged kicking and screaming back up Spanish Fork Canyon in a blizzard no less, just to be dumped into absolute chaos.  Math is piling up, Micro is overdue, I have two tests and a lab that deals with the lovely smells of decaying sewage. . . yeah.  It's definately seeming like the fiery depths of a very bad place.

On the bright side, my roommate and I are once again engaged in a war between the stubborns as we both try to out compete each other for the victory belt.  This time, it's over going home.  We'll see who the winner is.  Although I ultimately think it will be her because I do desperately want to go home.

Ah well.  As Winston Churchill once said; "If you're going through [the fiery lake of lava and brimstone], keep going."

It's some good advice.
